Brian Hanlen
Director of Constructability | Senior Associate
Brian recently joined Poss in a role designed to bring a unique and strategic perspective, bridging the gap between the design and construction worlds. His goal is to optimize both the final product and the process by which it is achieved.
In 1986, at a young age, he began working full-time in construction with his grandfather. He started his design/build firm in 1996, which he ran for 18 years before moving to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2013. He served for six and a half years with the Steamboat Springs Planning Commission, provided testimony as an expert witness for construction litigation, consulted for land planning and entitlements, and specialized in staircases, unique trim, and millwork.
Through a holistic view of coordinating architecture, interiors, structural, mechanical, lighting, civil, and landscaping, we create effective risk management for the firm’s, the client’s, the builders’, and ultimately the project’s best interest, while assisting the project team in creating the best possible product.
After retiring as a former competitive mogul skier, Brian helped run nine World Cup and Pro Freestyle events as well as two Olympic training camps. He enjoys trail running, skiing, swimming, biking, movies, reading, and spending time with his daughter.
