Richard’s background includes degrees in architecture and engineering. His Bachelor of Science is from Lafayette College, and his Master of Architecture is from the University of Pennsylvania. He has brought his knowledge, skill, and experience in both fields to all his projects.
Richard has led several projects from conceptual design through construction documents and project management, with a strong sense of commitment and attention to detail. Richard’s civil engineering background and HVAC experience have enabled him to effectively integrate complex engineering systems with architectural aesthetics throughout his career in Colorado and cities on the East Coast. He has written published articles on solar energy, HVAC for hybrid passive energy buildings, and related topics. His interest in foreign cultures facilitated an educational exchange program in Japan and work as the U.S. project architect for a 25,000-square-foot Community Center in Shimukappu. Richard’s 20 years of CAD experience adds an additional technical dimension to his already well-rounded design, engineering, and management skills.
Richard retired in 2022 but will occasionally assist Poss with various projects.
